Waterway Model 2 Training Monofin

This is the ideal fin for developing the correct monofin technique. A must for all beginners and a useful tool for experienced monofin swimmers to continue technique development. The Model 1 fin has a 70cm wide blade which is slightly wider than the Model 2 ( 66cm), the M2 is more suited to women. The training fin blade is hand tapered yellow or black fiberglass with colored rubber foot pockets. Color options are not offered by the manufacturer.

Stiffness Guide

Long Distance / Soft Blade: This is ideal for long distance finswimmers or recreational freedivers who intend to use it for long distance open ocean swimming, specialized techniques or are very petite.

Medium Distance/Medium Stiffness Blade: Suitable for all freedivers (DYN & CWT) and middle distance finswimmers.

Sprint Distance/Hard Blade: Suitable for sprint distance finswimmers. This fin is not normally recommended for freedivers.

Sizing Guide

For freediving or recreational monofin use, we highly recommend ordering up one size. These fins are designed for maximum transmission of energy between the body to fin and therefore the foot pockets are designed to be worn tight. Yes, it is uncomfortable to start with, but with time your foot will get accustomed to its use.

Monofin Returns

All FII Pro Shop items are returnable within 30 days of purchase in a new & unused condition with the buyer covering all shipping expenses.

We highly recommend clients to pay special attention when trying on a new monofin: 1) Wet the foot pocket with water, 2) Lay plenty of towels down to protect the underside of the fin, 3) Lubricate foot with baby shampoo/any basic shampoo or body wash, 3) Sitting down with the wet monofin on top of the towels slide your foot into the pockets one by one, 4) test for fit (remember it will be tight, but does the length of the foot match the foot pocket?), 5) gently remove feet from the foot pocket, rinse with fresh water & dry off with towels.

Unreturnable fins: finger nail marks around the rubber foot pocket, scratches in the unshaved fiberglass (bottom of pool), sand in rubber, etc
